Special Awards Critique
Northern Counties Shetland Sheepdog Club
8th October 2023
Firstly, I would like to thank the club for asking me to judge  the special award classes at their open show. Although a champ show the day before, reflected  on the  entry with several absentees, I had some lovely dogs to go over. A thankyou to the ladies who stewarded  for me.  I have to say what a gorgeous  3 course Sunday lunch  we had.

Junior(8- 4a)
1, Jeavons Guy/Koenen Marcella- Wylwind Designed for Grandgables (SAF)
A very glamorous tri at just 11 months old this girl has a promising future ahead of her. Jet black coat  with rich tan markings groomed to perfection. Nice ear set with obliquely set  eyes showing the sweetest of expressions. Good length of neck and laid back shoulders. Moved with ease around the ring and showed her socks off
2, Mrs P C East - Jacquard Xsavoir Faire
Nice shaded sable , although not in a showing mood on the day this girl has some nice qualities. Flat skull , well rounded muzzle with good under jaw. Good bone and moved well.

Post Graduate  -(4 4a)

Open - (10 3a)
1, Gillian Malone - Pathaaron After The Storm
A masculine tri in lovely coat of correct texture. Lovely dark obliquely set eyes, good ears used all the time given him a sweet but masculine expression. Well rounded muzzle and lovely reach of neck. Good top line , moved with reach and drive.

2, Bird K/ Caden J - Molson Mr Blue Sky JW
A six year old blue Merle boy , a nice breed type, preferred the reach of the neck on my  1st placing. Another masculine boy with pleasing head and good bone. Moved nicely.
